How to View and Download Company and LLP Documents from the MCA V3 Portal — Public Documents, Certified Copies and Master Data

Every company and LLP registered in India files its constitution, annual accounts and event-based forms with the Registrar of Companies through the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal, and most of those filings are public. Anyone with an MCA account can look up a company by name or CIN and view or download what it has filed — the certificate of incorporation, the memorandum and articles, annual returns and financial statements (MGT-7, AOC-4), director appointments and resignations (DIR-12), share allotments (PAS-3), charges created on assets (CHG-1, CHG-4) and LLP annual filings (Form 8 and Form 11).

The portal has two generations. MCA V3 carries LLP filings since 2022 and company filings since the 2023 migration; older company documents remain in the V2 archive. Both are reached from the same login, and the video walks through the V3 flow, which now handles almost every request.

1. 1Step 1 — Go to mca.gov.in, register a user account with e-mail and mobile if you do not have one, and sign in.
2. 2Step 2 — MCA Services → Document Related Services → View Public Documents.
3. 3Step 3 — Enter the company or LLP name (or CIN / LLPIN) and the captcha; select the entity from the results.
4. 4Step 4 — Choose the document category and the year; the list of forms filed in that year appears (V3 shows filings after the migration; earlier years are fetched from V2 with the same steps).
5. 5Step 5 — Add the documents you want to the cart and pay the MCA fee; an SRN (service request number) is generated — note it down.
6. 6Step 6 — Go to MCA Services → Document Related Services → View Public Documents → Workspace; the paid documents appear there for viewing and download as PDF for the access period.
7. 7Step 7 — For a physically certified copy, use Get Certified Copies instead; MCA couriers the certified documents to your address for a per-page fee.

• •A company whose last AGM and balance sheet dates are two or more years old has stopped filing — treat it as a red flag for credit or a transaction.
• •Charges shown as 'open' mean a lender holds security over the assets; a satisfaction filing (CHG-4) releases it.
• •Documents filed before the V3 migration are in V2; if a year is empty on V3, check V2 before concluding nothing was filed.
• •Public documents are copies of filings, not certified copies; banks, courts and tenders that want certified copies need the Get Certified Copies route.
• •Access to purchased documents is time-limited; download the PDFs to your records.
