AEPC Registration (Apparel Export Promotion Council)

The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) was incorporated in 1978 under the Ministry of Textiles to promote India's readymade garment exports. Its headquarters, Apparel House, is in Gurugram, and it runs the India International Garment Fair and represents garment exporters before government and international buyers. India is among the world's largest apparel exporters, and the sector employs well over a crore of people, many in clusters such as Jaipur's printed and hand-block garment industry.

AEPC covers apparel of every fibre with three exclusions — woollen garments, leather garments and jute garments — which have their own councils. Registration with AEPC gives the exporter the RCMC needed for duty drawback, RoSCTL, EPCG, Advance Authorisation and Market Access Initiative benefits, and access to the Council's fairs, design and statistics services.

The Council also connects members to sector schemes: skill training under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Samarth, capital subsidy for machinery under the textile technology upgradation scheme, PM MITRA parks, and the export-oriented unit, SEZ and software technology park routes for units that want to structure exports through them. Under Market Development Assistance, members participating in approved fairs abroad can have 75% of airfare and part of the stall charges borne by the scheme.

Membership requires a valid IEC and, for member-exporter status, a minimum export turnover (₹1 crore as explained in the video), with the authorised signatory aged 21 or above; new exporters register in the entry category. As explained in the video, the registration fee is ₹1,000 plus GST and the annual fee ₹8,000 plus GST; the Council's current schedule applies.
