Overview

EPR registration for tyre waste ensures tyre manufacturers, importers, and recyclers take responsibility for the collection, recycling, and safe disposal of waste tyres. With rising vehicle usage, scrap tyres have become a major environmental challenge.

The Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 mandate tyre producers to obtain EPR permits from CPCB.
