Overview

What the scheme offers

Notified on 18 December 2019 as the Indira Mahila Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana and later renamed Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana, the scheme is run by the Directorate of Women Empowerment (Department of Women and Child Development) to push women — individually and through self-help groups, clusters and federations — into enterprise. Banks lend; the state pays a subsidy on the loan and, for the part of the loan the borrower services, a concession that keeps the effective cost low. A woman resident of Rajasthan aged 18 or above, a women's SHG, or a registered women's cluster or federation can apply for a new enterprise or the expansion of a running one in manufacturing, service, trading, dairy or agriculture-based activities. Lenders include public-sector and private banks, the regional rural banks (Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank and Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank), the Rajasthan Financial Corporation and SIDBI.

Eligibility

Who can apply

  • A woman aged 18 or above with a Rajasthan bonafide/domicile certificate; no upper age limit.
  • Women's self-help groups, and clusters or federations of women registered with a Rajasthan government department.
  • New enterprises and expansion of existing ones; the applicant must own and run the enterprise (in a firm or company, the woman's controlling stake).
  • Not a defaulter with any bank; not having taken a subsidy for the same asset under another scheme (state interest subsidies may converge with a central margin-money scheme subject to the bank's agreement).
  • Special categories (widows, abandoned women, DV survivors, women with disabilities, SC/ST women) need the relevant certificate for the 30% rate.
Process

Applying through SSO — step by step

  1. 1Create or log in to a Rajasthan SSO ID (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) → open the IMSUPY / Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan application (ssoapps.rajasthan.gov.in/imsupy).
  2. 2Fill the applicant profile (Jan Aadhaar/Aadhaar, domicile, category), the enterprise profile (activity — manufacturing/service/trading/dairy/agri, location, new or expansion), the loan requirement (term loan and working capital) and the preferred bank branch.
  3. 3Upload: photo, Aadhaar, domicile certificate, category/special-status certificate where claimed, project report with cost and projections, quotations, premises proof (ownership/rent), bank passbook, SHG/cluster registration and resolution for group applicants, Udyam (after sanction for new units).
  4. 4District Women Empowerment office scrutiny; the district-level committee meets at least monthly and recommends the application to the bank.
  5. 5Bank appraisal and sanction on its own norms (CIBIL, viability, margin); disbursement; the subsidy is claimed by the bank/department after disbursement and credited as per the scheme's mechanism, with the lock-in the scheme prescribes.
  6. 6Keep the unit running and the loan regular — subsidy is recoverable if the enterprise closes or the loan turns NPA within the lock-in.
