National Livestock Mission (NLM)
Overview
Launched by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, the NLM focuses on promoting entrepreneurship in livestock and poultry sectors, generating employment, and improving productivity.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicable For
- Individuals, FPOs, SHGs, Cooperatives, Startups, Section 8 Companies, NGOs
- Applicants must have a bankable DPR (Detailed Project Report) and approval from the State Implementing Agency (SIA).
Sub-Missions
Breed Development
Support for breed improvement farms, semen stations, and disease-free certification.
Feed and Fodder Development
Assistance for fodder block making units, silage making, and hydroponic units.
Innovation and Extension
Focused on pilot projects, innovations in animal husbandry, and livestock insurance.
Livestock Development through Entrepreneurship
Capital subsidies for setting up poultry farms, feed plants, veterinary clinics, and egg/meat processing units.

Draft a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
Submit Application
Apply via the official NLM portal.
Bank Loan
Apply for a bank loan for project implementation.
Claim Subsidy
Submit subsidy claim online after project completion.
