EPR Registration for Plastic Packaging

CPCB authorization for PIBOs to manage plastic waste responsibly.

Overview

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for plastic packaging makes Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs) accountable for managing plastic waste generated at both pre-consumer and post-consumer stages. Online EPR registration with CPCB or SPCBs is mandatory for PIBOs handling rigid, flexible, multilayered, or compostable plastic packaging.

The process involves submission of detailed waste management plans, compliance with category-wise targets, and payment of applicable registration fees depending on waste generation volume.
