EPR Registration for E-Waste
Mandatory CPCB registration for safe collection, recycling, and disposal of electronic waste.
Overview
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for e-waste makes producers, importers, and brand owners legally responsible for collecting and recycling electronic waste generated from their products. As per the E-Waste Management Rules 2022, businesses must register with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) before operating.
The registration process is online and requires submission of detailed plans for e-waste management, sales data, and proof of recycling tie-ups. The authorisation is valid for five years and must be renewed thereafter.
