Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG)
Up to ₹50 lakh grant · BIRAC / DBT · twice-yearly calls
India's largest early-stage biotech grant. Up to ₹50 lakh over 18 months, no equity, for individuals and startups under five years old incubated anywhere. Calls open on or around 1 January and 1 July for 30–45 days.

BIRAC's Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Fund invests up to ₹30 lakh per biotech, med-tech or life-sciences startup as equity or equity-linked instruments, deployed by selected BioNEST incubators to bridge proof of concept and angel readiness.

Accelerating Entrepreneurs is BIRAC's fund of funds for life sciences. It commits capital to SEBI-registered daughter funds that invest ₹7 crore, with follow-on up to ₹3.5 crore, in healthcare, pharma, med-tech, diagnostics, industrial-biotech and agri-tech startups. Sixteen daughter funds as of August 2025.
